Description

Holds glass pipette tube inside filament loop. When filament gets hot, glass melts , puller fixer (clamp dog) drops , sliding down puller posts, thus drawing fine point on pipette tube.

A 2-loop filament made from 35mm of 0.25mm dia. Pt90-Ir10 wire formed on a 1.8 mm diameter mandrel will glow orange-hot when the current reaches 3.5 Amperes and the voltage drop is 1.45 Volts.  This power gives sufficient heat to melt glass and form a pipette tip.

puller fixer clamp
6-32 socket-head screw, plastic thumb-screw knob, fixer clamp. Round brass nut ring is threaded onto screw and glued in place with epoxy so that unscrewing knob will pull fixer clamp away from Slider or Top piece.
